Benny’s transfers road hazard tire warranties to other dealers

Dealers to handle Benny’s tire warranties

The defunct retailer Benny’s announced Thursday that Melvin’s Tire Pros, Roland’s Tire, and Cape & Islands Tire will accommodate its former customers’ road hazard warranty adjustments on Cooper and Hankook Tires. Specifically; tires sold at Benny’s before Sept. 25 have warranties for 24 months from the date of purchase against road hazards, which include ruptures, bruises, cuts and nail holes, in normal passenger service. Damaged tires will be replaced with an adjustment charge pro-rated for the months used. Melvin’s stores are at: 390 George Washington Highway, Smithfield; 2760 Hartford Ave., Johnston; 10 School St., Seekonk, Mass.; and 45 Huling Road, North Kingstown. The other dealers’ locations are all in Massachusetts. No information on Connecticut locations was provided by Benny’s.
