PAWCATUCK — “Jesus on the Beach” is our topic for reflection this coming Sunday as we continue to ponder the resurrection appearances of Jesus. In this one, Jesus appears to the disciples while they are back at work as fisherman. He helps them double their catch and then cooks them breakfast! What does it all mean?

WESTERLY — Join us on Sunday, May 18, as we celebrate Neighbor Day with worship outside on front lawn. Pastor Cal Lord’s 10:30 a.m. message will be “A Matter of Trust.” After worship, we will have an Ice Cream Social on the lawn. All are welcome!

WESTERLY — Worship at Christ Church begins with the Saturday evening service at 5 p.m. (Rite I Holy Eucharist). On Sunday, the Holy Eucharist is celebrated at 9 a.m. (Rite II Choral Eucharist), and 11 a.m. (Rite II Contemporary service). The Holy Eucharist will also be celebrated on Wednesday at 7 and 10 a.m.
We welcome our new interim rector, the Rev. Elise Feyerherm, this weekend. Please join us at coffee hour after the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, May 18, for a chance to greet her.
Do you enjoy knitting? The Knitters Group is always happy to greet new members. Please join us in St. Stephen’s room on the third Monday of each month at noon, this month on May 19, and have fun knitting or crocheting.
The Living Supplies Closet for those in need is open from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday. The Closet is in the basement of Christ Church. Donations of items (particularly Comet, soap, deodorant, toilet paper, tissues, dish soap, laundry soap, diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, foil, toothbrushes for adults and children, toothpaste, shaving cream, and sanitary pads) or cash are always needed and greatly appreciated.

The Church At Westerly
WESTERLY — The message this Sunday at The Church At Westerly is “Real Life in a Rugged World.” The Bible-based study is part of a new series at the church called “Straight Talk for Jesus Followers.” The message and series are based on the Book of James, which was written by James, one of Jesus’ brothers. James was a leader in the early church and this book gives an inside look at how a Christian can make it even in a messed up world.
The church meets for worship every Sunday at the Tower Street School Community Center, 93 Tower St. Fellowship and refreshments begin at 10 a.m. The dress is casual and worship is from 10:30 – 11:45. A time for prayer and questions is included in the service together with an explanation of how to personally begin a faith relationship with Jesus. Traditional Christian beliefs are taught from the Holy Bible and both Catholics and Protestants are welcome. The church is especially open to people seeking to know God or trying to return to Him.
Children of all ages worship with their families until 10:45 and then children go to their own Bible study classes. Canned goods and staple food items are collected every Sunday for the church’s food pantries at Merchant’s Village and Babcock Village. Weekly messages are also downloadable for free on the church’s website.

“The Best of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University” series will conclude Saturday, May 17, at 5:30 p.m. The series focuses on budgeting, buying, getting out of debt, giving, saving and spending. The evening will begin with a free meal, followed by Dave’s insight, and a brief small-group time.

N. STONINGTON — Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10 a.m. with singing of hymns, special music, and a children’s moment followed by a practical message from the Rev. David Jordan titled “When You Just Want to Quit” from 2 Timothy 2:1-7.
Sunday evening service begins at 6:30 p.m. with a hymn sing, testimonies and prayer. Pastor Dave will preach from the book of 2 Chronicles 17:1-6 titled “When Good People Make Bad Choices.”
