The Knickerbocker Café, 35 Railroad Ave., Westerly, will host a benefit concert for the Frank Olean Center on Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Local bands will perform, including the Atlantic Ave Band, an eight-piece group with two female lead vocalists. The band is a powerhouse for rock, funk, party, and dance music from today’s dance and hip hop, rock, ’70s and Motown hits.
Also performing will be Johnny and the East Coast Rockers.
A premiere rhythm and blues dance band in the Northeast for more than 30 years, Johnny MacLeod and his band perform original tunes and covers from the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s in an eclectic mix that combines elements of traditional blues, swing, jazz, R&B, and roots rock.
Rounding out the evening will be the swing music of Dan Lord and the Big Shots, who regularly fill the dance floor at the Knickerbocker.
The benefit will include a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds from this event benefit the Frank Olean Center in assisting people with disabilities.
Tickets are $20. For tickets and information call 401-596-2091, Ext. 113. Tickets will also be sold at the door or online at theknickerbockercafe.com.
