Happy belated birthday to Andrew Fiore who celebrated his 10th birthday at the Met’s City Field with his name in lights. “Happy 10th Birthday Andrew Fiore” flashed the scoreboard during the game against Atlanta (the Mets actually won, 7-4.!) As Andrew’s dad Henry, St. Pius X School principal and lifelong Mets fan said; “And God so loved the world, He created the New York Mets.” But not before t naccording tohe Red Sox!) Sorry Hen!

I t was a really REALLY BIG Kahuna in downtown Pawcatuck last Monday when British pop star Ed Sheeran dropped by Mel’s Downtown Creamery accompanied by his brother Matt and Ms. Taylor Swift herself to tackle the Big Kahuna Challenge. Says proprietor Melanie Goggin; “It was an epic moment at the creamery.” Sheeran, who’s been planning the challenge since Memorial Day, completed his task in 33 minutes then tweeted “I had to sign a contract for the eating contest just in case... Once I finished I got a t shirt. Day = Made. “So was ours!” said Miss Mel. It’s a shorter Chatter column this week patient readers, so I can make room for a few more photos especially from my friends from WHS’ class of ‘64 who have been waiting patiently! Until next week, have fun, be good and ciao bella!
