Watch Hill estate sells for $6.1 million, highest in Westerly thus far in 2018

WESTERLY — Randall Realtors has announced the sale on Monday of a luxury estate at 14 Ninigret Ave., Watch Hill, for $6.1 million. The selling price was the third highest of the year in Rhode Island, according to the State-Wide Multiple Listing Service, and the highest in Westerly.

Elizabeth Douthit of the Randall Realtors Watch Hill office represented the sellers, Michael J. Flynn and Anne J. Flynn of Palm Beach, Florida. Bill Hecker of the Watch Hill office of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyers.

“We are proud to close on another million dollar-plus home in Westerly, especially one with this property’s classic charm and character,” said Dottie Nigrelli, broker associate and manager at Randall’s Watch Hill office.

Built in 1898, the renovated 4,974-square-foot house, close to East Beach, has eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and sits on 1.25-acre lot. It has a pool, waterfalls, and an outdoor kitchen, a chef’s eat-in kitchen, and an office with a fireplace that opens onto a balcony with ocean views.

According to town property records, the total assessment is $3,116,900, with the land accounting for $1,973,600 of the appraised value. The Flynns bought it in October 1998 for $1.2 million. It went on the market in May 2017 and again in June for $6.5 million.

In a news release, Charlestown-based Randall Realtors said this was the second consecutive year that Douthit has participated in the top sale in Westerly, following last year’s $11 million sale at 25 Ocean View Highway.
