Garlic Festival returns

Garlic Festival returns

The Westerly Sun

MYSTIC — Follow your nose and prepare your taste buds.

The 10th annual Garlic Festival will take place this weekend at Olde Mistick Village and will celebrate ... well, everything garlic.

Farmers from around the region will have plenty of varieties of garlic and other fresh produce for sale, along with honey, jams, preserves, ice cream, baked goods and syrups.

Dozens of local restaurants and food-service establishments will be selling garlic-related foods along with other non-garlic treats throughout the two-day event.

Meanwhile, merchants, artisans, authors, and artists will line the pathways of the village displaying their foods, crafts, gifts, and talents, along with more than 50 vendors. Olde Mistick Village merchants will also offer garlic-related activities or products at their stores.

Visitors can expect to enjoy plenty of live music and children’s activities, including a live birds of prey program, a martial arts demonstration and a reptile show.

The festival takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Olde Mistick Village, 27 Coogan Boulevard. Admission and parking are free. Visit for more information.
