Interested in acting? Why not audition for one of the many regional productions seeking actors.

At the Granite Theatre of Westerly, auditions for the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol – A Musical” on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 5 p.m., and Monday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the theatre, 1 Granite St., Westerly.

The show, produced by David Jepson, is a light-hearted musical adaptation of the theater’s traditional Christmas classic that brings to life London of the 1800s with Scrooge, Tiny Tim and all the other favorite characters in the heartwarming Christmas celebration.

The performance dates for the show are Dec. 1 to 23 for 14 performances.

The show will be directed and musically directed by Scott Morency with choreography by Lisa Clough.

Men and women of all ages and children 11 years old and up are needed for the production.

Readings will be from the script. Actors are asked to bring sheet music and be prepared to sing. Those who have not auditioned for the Granite Theatre before should bring a head shot or current photo. No appointments are necessary.

In Kingston, meanwhile, The Courthouse Center for the Arts will be holding auditions for its Children’s Christmas Show on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Auditions will be held at the Courthouse at 3481 Kingstown Road, West Kingston. Auditions are open for ages 9-19.

Rehearsal will be every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,with the exception of Oct. 7. Dress rehearsal will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show date will be Sunday, Dec. 10.

Up in Providence, Trinity Rep will hold auditions for children 8 to 12 years of age for its upcoming production of beloved New England tradition “A Christmas Carol.” Auditions will take place Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Cardi’s Furniture, Route 1A, South Attleboro, Mass.

The audition is an open call, and appointments will not be taken. Actors will be seen in groups of 10, every 10 minutes, and will be asked to read from a side and sing a few bars of a holiday song of their choice. Children turning 13 before Dec. 31 will not be eligible.
