MYSTIC — When Stonington police responded to several 911 calls reporting a domestic dispute at 10 Meadowbrook Lane on Wednesday night, they found a woman outside suffering from lacerations. At the same time, officers heard a noise and saw that the house was on fire. As they were attending to the woman, the man half jumped out a second-story window and was also injured, officials said.In the end, the couple was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London with injuries, their home was destroyed by fire and an investigation into the domestic disturbance and the cause of the fire were underway by police detectives and local and state fire officials.Stonington Police Capt. Jerry Desmond did not release the names of the couple. However, Stonington town records list the owners as Bryan Marshall and Adrien Amero-Marshall. Desmond said criminal charges would be considered during the department’s investigation, which would include interviews with the couple at the hospital.Desmond said this morning that no other occupants lived in the house and he did not believe there were any pets in the home at the time of the blaze.An investigator from the Connecticut State Fire Marshal’s office and local Fire Marshal George Brennan were on the scene late last night preliminarily investigating the cause of the fire. No determination has yet been made. The Quiambaug Fire Department was first on the scene shortly after the first call at 10:45 p.m., with mutual aid from the Old Mystic and Stonington fire departments. The scene was cleared by 11:50.
